2nd December 2004. The NGCC`s first success.
The Irises lighting project reached its conclusion with the lighting ceremony taking place on this date. The Irises, next to the Leslie Roundabout at the junction of the A911 and Western Avenue, have been a much admired town landmark for many years. The Community Council began a campaign and secured the monies needed to have this important architectural structure lit up at night for all to see and admire.
They also mark the beginning of the boundary in the south..
