Changing facilities (for two teams and referee) are now installed by Fife Council in the park, thanks to your Community Council.

If you require information on how to hire the park click on this link.

As soon as NGCC was formed in 1996 its members realised a total lack of recreational and leisure facilities in the whole area of north Glenrothes.
A lot of time and effort have gone into remedying that these last years  -  and the Magnus Drive Initiative based at Collydean Centre, has been doing the same.
NGCC "found" the large Gilvenbank Park of 17 hectares, given to Fife Council by the GDC, totally unused  -  the only Fife Council activity was grass cutting!
Now people in the community have football pitches and a pavilion/changing accommodation in the south of the park, close to the Community Kick-Off.
And now there is the start to a Family Play Area in the north of the park, beside the car park.

HAVE YOU any ideas for further use of Gilvenbank Park?

If so, click here and let us know what you would like. The park is over 17 hectares in size - HUGE! So almost anything goes (as long as it can be financed,of course.)

There`s also woodland around it....

After consultation and an extensive survey in 2005 the NGCC now has a plan for the Family Play Area. It is for all ages, from toddlers to young teenagers and all abilities.

                         And  has now begun.

A park Development Fund has been set up and are now raising funds.

Contact the NGCC for more information.

Gilvenbank Park is massive and can take on a lot of developments. The NGCC members are always delighted to listen to ideas.
